1. Who is Matilda?
I am a twenty-five years old young woman, who is trying to figure out her path and life in general. I always say that my glas is always half full not half empty. People always say that I have a wanderlust mind because I never stay in one place for too long. The last seven years or so I have been moving and travelling constantly. As a person I am very caring and loving which hasn't always been in my favour but I wouldn't change it for anything. I've always been very creative and interested in different artforms, for the past three years I have worked and developed my creative expression. Hopefully I’ll be starting in a motion design school in Gothenburg this year. I found the love of my life two years ago and decided to move back to Sweden with him.
2. What does sustainability mean to you?
Sustainability to me is something that needs to happen. We need to be and think more sustainable with no excuses. With all the new companies popping up it's crazy that so many of them are still just doing fast fashion.
3. How do you implement sustainable practices in your day to day life?
Most of my clothes are secondhand or from companies with sustainable values and high quality garments. I don't really follow trends witch makes it kind of easy to stay away from fast fashion. I also try to live my life as sustainable as possible, I can't say I'm doing it perfectly but I'm trying.
4. What sustainability challenges do you face as a consumer?
For me it has been the trends on social media, there are so many advertisements and promotions and we don't even realise! I also find it challenging that fast fashion offers cheap products which makes it easy to impulse buy instead of saving up for high quality products that are better for the environment/my wardrobe. Luckily I really enjoy vintage and secondhand shopping.
1. Try to find companies with good values and sustainable thinking.
2. Always ask yourself if you really need to buy whatever you just put in your cart.
3. Secondhand shopping, nothing better than doing a good bargain and no one else has it.
